XING is an on-air activity aimed at further revitalizing CW activity, creating more opportunities for rubber stamp QSOs and rag-chews.
Anyone can send "CQ XING" and anyone can call back. Simply exchanging RSTs is fine, but XING QSOs are based on standard rubber-stamp QSOs sending QTH, OP NAME, RIG, ANT, etc., with the aim for free rag-chewing.
There are two ways to enjoy the "XING". One is called "Core Time" to get together at specific time on a band. It will make you easier to find more XING CQers and also be found by other XING CQ Takers. And the other way is that you can send "CQ XING" or taking the XING CQs at any time on any frequencies you like.
You may be wondering, "what is the difference between the XING and a regular CQ?". We send "CQ XING" to convey our shared desire to operate with consideration and respect, making it easier for CW beginners to participate in the XING QSOs.
If you want to meet more A1CLUB members, or if you can't fit time into JA activities such as the Giving Back program or A1NET, or if you want to call CQ in QRS (slow) and get the call back in QRS, or if you want to try QRP/QRPp, the XING works FB for you!
■ Core Time
On every Friday 22:00-24:00, around 7.030MHz (Note: 7.030MHz is for QRP)
* If you'd like to organize the Core Time, please feel free to get in touch us, A1CLUB Int'l Telegraph Groups.
■ Any Time
Any HF bands including WARC bands, V/U/SHF bands and bands as your radio license allows. To meet each other easily, please get on the air around +30kHz above from the lower band edge. (Note: 7.030MHz is for QRP)
■ CQ Format
"CQ XING" is the basic but any CQ style like "CQ A1C XING", "CQ XING/QRPP", and so on.
■ QSO Format
Not specified in particular but we encourage you to do the starndard rubber stamp QSO+@ like https://a1club.org/events/GB/index2.html.
* Please send "TNX FER FB XING (QSO)" in your final telegraph.
■ Requests for XING QRV
-
Please send "CQ XING" at 10-20 WPM. And also please add a little more spacing between letters and words.
-
Please try to match to the other's keying speed. But if you feel his/her "CQ XING" is a little too fast, you may respond at your comfortable keying speed.
-
Please allow the CW beginners who may call you multiple times in a short period for the sake of their CW training.
-
It is OK to use the "CQ XING" together with the other activities such as ZOTA and SKCC as long as they are the regular QSOs. But please do not use XING in the activities such as POTA, SOTA, and the contests like AWT, which are based on short contacts like 5NN+TU format. (Example: "CQ AWT XING")
-
When you are "XING QRV", please post your QRV FREQ (QRG) (e.g. "JO1ZZZ/1 XING/QRS 7.028") on A1-Chat, A1CLUB Discord, or any other SNS or SPOT bulletin board. However, if your QRV is for together with other activity, please follow the rules of that activity.
-
If you are the A1CLUB member, please report any XING QSOs lasting more than 5 minutes to ACT5 - A1CLUB CW Talk for 5min.
- When you hear "XING?", reply as "XING IS FER CW CROSSING". hi
