フィリップスコードの例
フィリップスコードは、受信側オペレータは一般的に手送り送信の場合どんなに早くても受信できるため、送信側のオペレータの技能を受信側のレベルに追いつくようにするために開発されたものです。フィリップスコードはシステマチックでがっちりとした略語のシステムで、他の単語の通常のスペリングと共に使われ、トータル伝送時間を約半分にまで短縮します。長年使われているこのシステムには約6000の略号があります。それは商業通信(ニュース)の配信にしようされました。熟練のオペレータは容易に手送り送信よりずっと早く完全な単語をタイプすることが出来、略号で戸惑うこともありませんでした。
単語はその発音の矛先だけ残して「骨格」まで省略されます、下記の例を見てください。略された単語は"d"をつけて過去形に、"g"をつけて現在進行形I(-ing)として、"s"は複数、"b"は可能(able)として使われます。簡単なテキストの例を以下に示します。
